Community Support Shapes the First Annual Walk & Roll

The First Annual Walk & Roll 2 Mile Fun Run/Walk and Free Play event was a success and Partnership in Action for Trinity Health (PATH) couldn't have done it without the support of the Trinity County community. It was truly the sum of its parts that made this event so special. Thank you to all of our partners and participants that helped make Walk & Roll so great!

Walk and Roll participants await the start of the fun run and walk.

The event kicked off with the 2 mile fun run/walk and free play, where over 100 participants enjoyed Lance Gulch Rd., free of cars. Concurrently, the festival at Golden Age Center was underway, where 22 organizations shared and educated patrons about their programs and offered giveaways. The festival included many opportunities to enjoy tasty food selections. Just to mention a couple, Ryan Query, owner of Q's Smokin' BBQ, made pulled pork sliders for free thanks to generous donations from Trinity River Lumber and Holiday Market. Patrons could enjoy fresh fruit as well, that was kindly donated by the Trinity County Food Bank and Holiday Market.

To increase accessibility, Trinity Transit offered free shuttle rides to and from the Golden Age Center. By noon patrons were making their way inside of the Golden Age Center for the raffle, where over 17 prizes, donated by local businesses, were being raffled off. Once the raffle concluded, patrons enjoyed the mountain air and car-free Lance Gulch Rd., for a little while longer.

A huge thank you to all who supported and participated in the First Annual Walk & Roll 2 Mile Fun Run/Walk and Free Play! We look forward to planning Walk & Roll 2020.
